Meet the Author

“I grew up in suburban Philadelphia.
World War II disrupted my childhood.

I aspired to be a doctor from age eight but struggled after college in New York City.

I navigated being a woman in science during the women’s movement during my second marriage to Dr. George Hill while earning a Ph.D.

After facing two firings and ridicule, I became a Full Professor at NJ Medical School. My journey hit a roadblock when I caught a research fellow cheating and faced opposition from the University. I persevered, and my memoir, The Crying Window, tells my story.”
